What people are saying
“My tummy was also full with the bite-sized samplers of your Ensaimadas – we loved the Coconut Pandan, Puto Bumbong, Matcha, Churros and Hotteok (didn’t get to try the other flavors). Be it in Manila or NY, Michael and Meg Arcilla continue to create treats with the right flavors and textures.”

“Tootsie and Tati make the most incredible sweets! The traditional Filipino flavors are so exciting and unique to find in the heart of Brooklyn. And the brioche is heavenly. My favorite is the Coco Pandan, but you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. This bakery is amazing!”

“Got me and my fam the Ensaimada box from Tootsie and Tati and each one was better than the next – these pictures don’t do them justice! I went back to their page and saw you can pick up from Queens now too!”

Meet the team
We’re Meg and Mike Arcilla, the bakers of Tootsie and Tati. The urge to start baking and selling Filipino desserts came one dinner party with friends. It was a conversation about how we missed many desserts from back home and the lack of places to get them on the East Coast. As we were avid bakers, our friends urged us to finally open shop.
Back in Manila, we used to run a custom cake and dessert studio that began with liquored cupcakes for friends’ birthday parties. In 2019, we closed our doors to move to New York City, and we always toyed with the idea of setting up when we arrived.
We gave it some thought and decided, why not? We could make desserts that Filipinos missed and flavors and innovations we believed they (and everyone else in general) were missing out on. It is also an opportunity to put a bit of ourselves into the project by introducing new and unique flavors in our desserts, starting with the Filipino Ensaimada.
We bake fresh at Mangrove FC Kitchen located at Flatbush Central, in the heart of Little Caribbean in Brooklyn’s historic Prospect Lefferts Gardens. It is a stone’s throw from the Q line on Parkside Avenue.
