FAQs

1. ALLERGENS: “I’m allergic to nuts – can I eat these?”
A: Unfortunately, due to the way these are made – in a facility where we also produce our flavors with nuts and toasted soybean powder (such as the Hotteok flavor and our other upcoming desserts), as well as the fact that we share the space with other chefs and food businesses we cannot guarantee that our products will be free of nuts or any other specific allergens! And due to the nature of the product itself all of our Ensaimadas will contain eggs, and milk. As a result, these products are not gluten-free either. But we are working on better ways to handle these and we look forward to announcing something for you at a later date!

2. Shipping: “Do you ship to xxx?”
A: At this early stage we are not shipping our ensaimadas yet. We are looking for ways to preserve and pack them for shipping, but as we use fresh buttercream and other ingredients that can melt or spoil in transit we want to ensure we have the best possible solution before we announce anything. But stay tuned for that exciting development!

3. Delivery: “Do you do delivery to xxx”
A: We currently do not offer delivery for individual orders, but if you are looking for bulk or corporate orders of a significant volume please do reach out to info@letseatmanila.com and let’s work something out!

4. Pickup: “I just placed my order! Where do I pick it up? Can you meet
me at xxx”?
A: We are currently offering pickup at our Brooklyn location at 54 Clarkson Ave., but stay tuned for other pickup locations around the city coming soon!

5. Storage and Expiration: “I bought your ensaimadas but now have to run out of town for a few days – will they still be safe to eat when I get back”
A: You can safely store the ensaimadas in an airtight container for up to three days. You can also place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week, just bring them out and let them come to room temperature before enjoying.

And for even LONGER storage, you can safely place them in a ziploc or airtight container and stuff them in your freezer for up to a month! Just move them to the refrigerator to slowly thaw, then bring to room termperature to enjoy!

6. Reselling: “Are you open to resale?”
A: Please reach out to info@letseatmanila for any inquiries.

7. Bulk and Corporate Orders: “I’m looking to host a party and want a unique dessert spread. Do you offer bulk pricing for large orders?”
A: Yes, we can certainly work that out. We are also open to creating custom flavors or designs for your event or company. Please reach out to us at info@letseatmanila.

8. Custom flavors and designs: “I want to celebrate an event with my family and want a special flavor or design on my ensaimadas. Is this possible?”
A: Yes, we are also open to working with you on special one-off designs for your special occasion. Reach out to us at info@letseatmanila and let’s talk.

9. Where do you bake your products from?
A: We bake fresh at Mangrove FC Kitchen located at Flatbush Central, in the heart of Little Caribbean in Brooklyn’s historic Prospect Lefferts Gardens. It is a stone’s throw from the Q line on Parkside Avenue.

10. Who are Tootsie and Tati?
A: At Tootsie and Tati, our story starts with the Concepcion sisters—Teresita, Elena, and Anita. Life brought these three together, creating a bond that grew stronger with every challenge they faced. Together, they raised six children, showing what true family strength, hope, and love look like. To their children, these sisters have always been role models of resilience and togetherness.

The journey continues with Meg Arcilla, the youngest of the six and Teresita’s daughter, known as Tootsie in her younger days. With her husband Michael, Meg opened Tootsie and Tati as a tribute to her mom, Tootsie, and her aunt Elena, affectionately called Tati.

Though Tootsie and Tati had different personalities, they shared a deep love for good food and always welcomed everyone to their table. Meg wanted to carry on this tradition, and through Tootsie and Tati, she invites you to enjoy her family’s favorite dishes, so more people can experience the warmth and joy they cherished.
